Mechanics Update #1

·2 mins
Table of Contents

Been heads-down this past sprint implementing a bunch of suggestions from the community, plus a few things that were overdue. Here’s what’s in:

What’s changed
#

  • Snappier grab mechanic — grabbing items feels more immediate and responsive now. The slight lag that was making it feel floaty is gone.

  • Push the cart — you could already pull it, now you can push it too. Feels much more natural when you’re navigating tight corridors.

  • Dump the cart onto a vendor (WIP) — early version of this is in. You’ll be able to tip your haul straight onto a vendor’s table instead of placing items one by one. Still rough around the edges.

  • Description tooltip on items — hover over an item and you’ll see a short description. Mostly placeholder text for now, but the system is wired up.

  • Angular velocity when throwing items — thrown items now spin based on how they were released. Small thing, big difference for feel.

  • More central grab position — items now snap to a more centred point when grabbed, which makes stacking and placing a lot less fiddly.

  • Fixed lots of physics issues — the less said about the previous state of the physics the better. Chests should no longer achieve orbit.
